Note:
For all Under Graduate Programmes the minimum eligibility for SEBC candidates (belonging to Kerala State) for admission to B. Tech is 45% for Mathematics and 45% for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together in the qualifying examination.  Of the total seats for B.Tech. (Self-Financing) 50% are free seats, 40% payment and 10% are NRI payment seats.  The Free seats are reserved only for Keralite students. Candidates under SEBC category, whose family income is more than Rs.4,50,000/- are not eligible for free/payment seats under the respective community quota. Seats reserved under Sports quota will come under payment seats of B.Tech Programmes. 50% concession in tuition fees will be granted to Physically Handicapped candidates admitted against the seats reserved for Physically Handicapped and whose parent’s annual income does not exceed Rs. 1.50 lakhs.

Pass in the Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks and minimum 50% for Mathematics. Should have passed English at 10th or 12th Standards with 50% marks. Applicable for SC/ST candidates also. Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.

B.Tech programme in Marine Engineering is conducted with the approval of Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, as well as AICTE.  This consists of 8 semesters with one semester specifically for Afloat training which is done in ‘Ship-in-Campus’.  Graduates from this course are given with the document of CDC and INDoS number by the D.G.Shipping, after which they can sail on board Merchant Ships as Junior Engineer.  As of now, 100% placement service is rendered.

For B.Tech. Marine Engineering programme a physical & eye fitness certificate from a medical officer approved by the DG Shipping should be produced at the time of admission. (The list of medical officers and agency are available in website www.dgshipping.com.). This programme is distinct from other B.Tech programmes in which students are governed by separate rules regarding uniforms, hostel facilities, curricular and extra-curricular activities, training, discipline, attendance requirement besides a special fee structure.  However, candidates are advised to ensure themselves that they are medically fit in all aspects before submitting their options.

a)  Should have passed B.Tech/B.Sc Engg. Degree Examination in the respective branch with a minimum of 50% marks. 

b)  Candidates who have passed sections A and B examinations in respective/allied branches conducted by Institution of Engineer’s (India), Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers are also eligible for admission if they have an Engineering Diploma or a basic degree in Science. 

c)     Should have a minimum of 2 years experience in the concerned field after acquiring qualifying degree.  This may be relaxed if sufficient number of candidates with the minimum prescribed experience is not available. 

d)      Open seats will be allotted on the basis of the score in Departmental Admission Test, marks obtained in the qualifying examination and experience.

MSc. in Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany/Zoology/Biochemistry, Microbiology/Genetics,Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Environmental Biotechnology/Mari culture with 60% marks Or equivalent CGPA from any recognized Indian or foreign University

(The selected candidates will be receiving a monthly stipend of Rs.8000/-)
